Meet Foligno

Trevi, famous for olive oil
early evening in Montefalco
Our trip to Umbria was a great event for the two classes FGW11 and FGW21. All worked as film producers or actors for our project, now it was the final stage here.
Italy is worth such a trip alone because of its nice little towns on a hill. Rome was also very seeable but we liked more places like Montefalco, Spello, Assisi or Trevi ... .

And the winner is: HEART OF GLASS

In Nancy we had a meeting of teachers of the project beginning saturday, april 6.
One of the main task was to compare the results of the video contest and find the winner.
Each school had two films in the contest and in each school where four jury members out of
all participating students to give points to all the films of the other four partnerschools.
One member could give maximum 16 points for one film after special properties.

Of course as the German school we are very happy that our film HEART OF GLASS made it.
It won the 2-year video contest of the project Youth-Video-Museums. Thankyou to the team
who produced this nice film: it was really a great work.
Thankyou to the pupils in our partnerschools who gave us the trust and the points.

Our pupils from 12 class were hard working film people on march 22! There was a project day supported by the class teacher Mrs. Schultze and Mr. Boernert from Jugendhaus Wolgast.
The main theme of the filming goes about romanticism in different facettes. One item is the so called window view.
But before filming there is some theoretical work: technicals, plots, storybords, museum technics, communication in the group ... . And also there is very much work after filming to do the cutting.

Now there are 4 groups (we have 4 cameras), each group
will be with a small film and all films connected to a larger film ... .

There are still ideas under development. We don´t want to tell too much here and now  ... .

When we go for Czech Republik in May we want to show some results already.

Good luck and success for all the film crews in all partner schools!!!!

Video contest

About the video-contest

We’ve decided that 3 to 5 min video will be allowed.
In each country, there will be a contest. Students of each school will choose the two films that will represent their school.
For the pan-European contest, we will choose a jury of 4 members for each school.
To keep the objectivity of the jury, each jury will not be allowed to vote for the videos made in their school.

Each member will have a table of criteria to mark the films.
Criteria:
    Background sound
    Quality of picture
    Clear message/Understandability
    Originality
    Technical visual effects

They will use 3 different marks:
•    Mark 3: I like a lot
•    Mark 2: I like a bit
•    Mark 1: I don’t like

Each member of the jury will have a document like the one presented on next page.
They will have to tick the appropriate box, regarding their feelings.

From Jan. 22 to 26 there was a Comenius meeting in Wolgast with participating teachers from all involveld schools.
Class FGW01 has prepared a lesson with overviews of all countries of the project in english and french language.

With class FGW11 there took place a discussion about several aspects of school and youth life.

There was also some work about video producing. It was supported by the Wolgast Jugendhaus by DrB.
Very impressive for our guest teachers seemed to be the visit of Peenemünde Museum HTM and also the visit of Pommern Museum Greifswald with video producing aspects.
The project meetings were supported also by several teachers, helpers and the head departement of our school. Thanks to all of them!

Project ongoing

Having tried videoconferencing last week by skype with the involved teachers there will be videoconferences with pupils in the near future too.
In Wolgast there will be mainly two classes, 11 und 12 Fachgymnasium, involved in the project and conferencing too.

But videoconferencing is only a starter, the main theme is video museums. So we have to work on this subject much more. There we need really the ideas. As I know there are already girls who did a video last months about there local surroundings and traditions, we look forward seeing it ... .
We are planning a workshop with the Wolgast Jugendhaus about video production beginning with class 12, so we have some video results till spring. Jugendhaus is for example interested in economic personalities in Wolgast history and also about music clips.

We have also bought some video technic for pupils use, two camcorders ... some software, adobe premiere.

Another important date will be a meeting in Wolgast in January with involved teachers to organise further steps.

The group travel to Praha in spring with class 12 and Frau Dr. Schultze shall also be used for a meeting in Cernosice our partner school near Praha. The goal is to have some video results to show there.

Another project is a new school t-shirt to be developed. We are in search for the colour and logo on each site of the shirt. The logo should be connected to this project. The best proposal will get a nice prize. It should be done till new year.

Hello Everyone in the Comenius World

My name is Buket Aksu and I am a Comenius Assistant from Turkey. I will be doing my assistantship till christmas at the school Berufliche Schule des Landkreises Ostvorpommern in Wolgast, in Germany. With the help of my mentor Mr. Dethloff and the school management, I had a good start into my assistantship. Now I am in the end of second week, here the time goes by so fast.

And I got to know the comenius project "Youth Video Museums" which sounds really interesting. In the time of my assistantship, it would give me great pleasure to support the comenius project as well. I am looking forward to seeing further progress for this project.

I wish you all the best at starting up the project "Youth Video Museums".

Sincerely,

Buket

 Comenius project approved

We have the project started in september 2011. Five schools have the approval. They come from Czech Rep., France, Italy, Greece and Germany. Here some impression from our beginning:

thanks for your mails,

- we have a comenius assistant in Wolgast till christmas; I only give her some insight into our work; I gave no official mailing list; you don´t have to write to her

- with the blogs we will not do it too complicated, everybody can write what she or he likes, most of the content should be directly about the project YVM, and no trash is allowed; we should link the blogs permanently; may be use the same colours

- meeting in Wolgast: around January 29 - February 2 or so ???;
give me your approval and numbers of participants (guess), please

- video conference: no very good experience with e-twinning; I would prefer skype; we should try it, maybe in mid october? (till oct. 14, holiday after that)
have a nice evening
....
